Jermaine Jackson has defended Chris Brown's scheduled appearance at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Vienna.
Brown's participation at the gig on September 26 has come under fire because of his assault against former girlfriend Rihanna in February.
The US R&B star was sentenced to five years' probation and twelve months community labour for the attack.
But speaking at a press conference in London this morning, Jermaine said Brown had “asked for forgiveness”.
He added: “If Christ can forgive us all, we can look at Chris Brown. People make mistakes, they need support, and he's a wonderful performer.”
Jermaine also revealed that he planned to sing a virtual duet with his late brother at the concert.
Stevie Wonder and R Kelly are also in talks to perform in front of 65,000 fans at Vienna's former imperial Schoenbrunn Palace.
Other performers confirmed yesterday include Mary J Blige, Akon and Sister Sledge.
Jackson died on June 25 at his rented home in Los Angeles of acute Propofol intoxication.
