Friendly Fires drummer Jack Savidge has been admitted to hospital and risks missing this evening's Mercury Music Prize ceremony.
The St. Albans band are nominated for the prestigious prize and are scheduled perform alongside fellow nominees La Roux, Bat For Lashes and The Horrors.
Savidge broke the news via Twitter saying "Admitted to hospital with a fever and darkside purple rash on my leg. No idea whether I'm gonna be able to play at the Mercurys tomorrow." The drummer has since been diagnosed with cellulitis and discharged from the hospital but it is still unclear whether he will perform with Friendly Fires this evening or not.
The winner of the annual Mercury Music Prize will be announced later on tonight. Check Gigwise for all the latest news and results.
