Michael Jackson has finally been laid to rest more than two months after his death at a private ceremony in Los Angeles.
The singer's family and specially invited friends, including Dame Elizabeth Taylor and Macaulay Culkin, were among mourners at the Forest Lawn cemetery.
Stevie Wonder, Chris Tucker and music producer Quincy Jones also attended the ceremony, which began more than an hour late following the delayed arrival of Jackson's family.
TV viewers were able to watch the tribute up until the arrival of Jackson's gold-plated coffin.
As with the singer's public memorial in July, his brothers – Jermaine, Jackie, Marlon and Tito – acted as pallbearers.
Jackson's children – Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11 and seven-year-old Prince Michael II – were in the front row with their father's parents.
In a statement, his family said: "The Jackson family wishes to once again thank all of Michael's fans around the world for their generous outpouring of support during this terribly difficult time.”
Jackson's family and friends were thought to have travelled to a local Italian restaurant following the internment.
The singer died on June 25 at his rented home in Los Angeles.
The LA coroner ruled last week that Jackson's death was homicide caused by acute Propofol intoxication.
The circumstances surrounding his death has increased speculation that charges may be brought against the singer's doctors.
