DJ AM was laid to rest yesterday at a private ceremony in Los Angeles.
Close family and friends gathered at the Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary in West Los Angeles at 4pm to pay their respects to the star – real name Adam Goldstein – who died in New York last Friday (August 28).
Mourners included AM's girlfriend, his music partner Blink 182's Travis Barker, Benji and Joel Madden from Good Charlotte and the DJ's former girlfriend Nicole Richie.
A private memorial service will take place at The Hollywood Palladium later today and has been described as “a gathering to celebrate the life of our friend Adam Goldstein."
A report by people magazine claimed yesterday that AM had eight undigested OxyContin pills in his stomach and a ninth in his mouth.
A crack pipe and evidence of the drug was also apparently found near to the DJ's body.
The official cause of his death has been deferred pending the results of a toxicology test.
