    Carl Barat Recording Solo Album

    And lining up gigs too...

    Carl Barat, formerly of Dirty Pretty Things and The Libertines, is currently demoing a solo album according to a statement released today.

    The statement claims that Barat has been writing songs ever since the demise of Dirty Pretty Things and that solo gigs will be announced soon. Barat has played a small amount of solo shows in recent months, most notably with Glasvegas.

    Though currently unsigned Barat is reportedly in talks with record labels. The former Libertines guitarist is also rumoured to be reforming with his former band mate Pete Doherty for next years festivals.

    • This will, undoubtedly, be a load of post-Libertines acoustic crap. I fully expect Pete Doherty to make a guest appearance.

    • Personally I'm highly looking forward to Carl's solo album. If how much I've always preferred Dirty Pretty Things to Babyshambles is any indication, it should be a whole lot better than Grace/Wastelands. That was a great album regardless, and if Carl's is better, it's perfectly fine by me.
