Jay-Z has told his fans to “enjoy” his new album 'The Blueprint 3' after it leaked online ahead of its release.
The album, which features collaborations with Kanye West and Rihanna, had been due out on September 14.
But complete retail copies began emerging on various file-sharing websites yesterday, which fans then spread using various social-networking websites.
In an interview with MTV, Jay-Z said: “I may be the most bootlegged artist in history.
“It’s a preview. I’m excited for people to hear the album. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done, so enjoy it.”
Despite the advance leak, which is expected dent the album's sales, Jay-Z said he welcomed getting fans' thoughts on the record.
“My pager is actually ringing right now, so people are probably calling me and telling me they pretty much like it,” the rapper said.
“I can tell by the way my pager rings if a song is good or not. It’s really going crazy right now.”
As Gigwise reported earlier, Jay-Z will play a one-off show at The Roundhouse in London on September 17.
