Jay-Z and Lady GaGa will both perform at next month's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in New York.
They join previously announced performers Green Day, Muse, Taylor Swift and Pink.
Meanwhile, Gossip Girl stars Leighton Meester and Chace Crawford are among the celebrities scheduled to present awards.
Lady GaGa and Beyonce lead this year's nominations with nine nods each.
Other nominees include Eminem, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Asher Roth, Kid Cudi, T.I. and Rihanna.
The 2009 ceremony will take place at Radio City Music Hall on September 13. Russell Brand is to host the event for the second year running.
