Mark Lester is not the father of the singer's daughter, Paris, it's been claimed.
On Sunday, the singer's long-time friend, who found fame as a child actor in Oliver!, told the News of the World he had donated sperm to Jackson in the mid-1990s.
The former actor said he was speaking out after the Jackson family made it difficult for him to speak to them following the star's death.
However, a friend close to the family has claimed Lester never suggested he was Paris' father in the interview.
"They twisted his words around. He's not claiming to be the father of Paris Jackson,” a source told People.
"These are just merely claims with no legal standing whatsoever.”
Lester grew to be a close friend of Jackson, who made him godfather to his three children at a small private ceremony in 2003.
In his interview on Sunday, Lester cited physical similarities between Paris and his own daughter, Harriet.
Paris was born in April 1998 to Jackson’s wife, Debbie Rowe. The 11-year-old spoke for the first time at Jackson’s memorial service in Los Angeles in July.
