Exactly 40 years ago on Saturday (August 8), John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison stepped out in unison onto the zebra crossing outside Abbey Road Studios in North London. History was made. The photograph, taken by Iain MacMillan, became one of the most famous, parodied and talked-about album covers of all time when 'Abbey Road' was released the following month.
