The main stage line up for July’s two-day Wickerman Festival is now complete with the announcement that Alabama 3 are to headline on the Saturday night.
Alabama 3 – the boys who brought us the theme song for t.v.’s mafia hit show 'The Sopranos' - are one of at least 15 bands which will take to the Woodward and Summer Isle stages on July 22 and 23, at Dundrennan in South West Scotland.
Friday headliners are The Stranglers supported by Dreadzone, Neville Staple from The Specials, AntiProduct, Mohair, Degrassi, Poor Old Ben and the Sound Development Agency.
Saturday features Alabama 3 plus Arthur Brown, Space Ritual, Mercedes, Mostly Autumn, Dangleberries, Mr Greenfinger and the local “Battle of the Bands” winner.
With four other stages and an acoustic village, the 2005 Wickerman is set to live up to its fast growing reputation as the festival that features all flavours of contemporary music.
The festival’s links to the 1973 film ‘The Wicker Man’ (which was was shot in the area) will culminate in the burning of a 2005 ‘wicker man’ effigy at midnight on Saturday. ...Random, but true.
Tickets cost £45 for the weekend including camping. Saturday only day tickets cost £30, and both are on sale now. Children aged 14 and under accompanied by an adult go free!
