Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine, has been granted full custody of the singer’s three children.
The 79-year-old has been taking care of Prince Michael, 12, Paris Katherine, 11, and seven-year-old Paris Michael II – also known as Blanket – since her son’s death on June 25.
A Los Angeles judge also granted Katherine a monthly allowance from her son’s estate, subject to a six-month review.
The singer’s three children will also receive a monthly allowance, Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff ruled.
Jackson had granted his mother full guardianship of his three children in his 2002 will.
Meanwhile, the singer’s ex wife and mother of his two eldest children, Debbie Rowe, has been granted visitation rights and will also continue to receive spousal support payments.
Rowe, who divorced from the star in 1999, dropped a previous attempt gain custody in 2006 after reaching a private settlement.
Until today’s ruling, there had been confusion over whether she would attempt to gain full custody of her children.
