A Libertines reunion may not be as far off as some had feared as Pete Doherty has openly admitted that he and Carl Barat have talked about reforming the band.
Following a reunion in May that saw the band play a one-off show at London's 'Rhythm Factory', Doherty said that he and Barat have discussed the possibility of touring and performing once again.
“Basically we had a good couple of hours. We were up all night together. Yeah, it was amazing really.” Doherty told The Times.
“I think we’re gonna make a record, and tour. Get the Libertines to take it to the next step, next stage. Next year.”
Doherty has never attempted to hide his ambition to reform the Libertines although Carl Barat is yet to comment on his claims.
Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek also stated in May that he thought it was “only a matter of time” before Doherty and Barat reunited.
