Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch, has revealed he faked a heart attack in a bid to prevent the singer from taking drugs.
Mitch, 59, told the Daily Mirror he was at his “wits end” when he decided to try the desperate stunt last August.
But the London taxi driver said Winehouse saw past his plot to trick her.
Mitch said: “I just didn’t know which way to turn. I’d tried everything. I pretended I was seriously ill and even got our doctor to tell Amy that I was dying.
“Once I even started screaming and said I was having a heart attack, but it didn’t work.”
He added: “Amy’s not stupid and she wanted to see my medical records proving I was actually ill.”
Mitch, who has been by Winehouse's side throughout her personal problems, said his daughter had been off drugs since Christmas.
