Judd Apatow has praised Eminem for his cameo appearance in the director's forthcoming movie, Funny People.
The film, which is released in the US on Friday, tells the story of the successful, but troubled, stand-up comedian George Simmons.
The rapper appears as himself during a scene with the character, who is played by Adam Sandler.
Apatow, who has written and directed the film, told MTV Eminem had arrived early for filming and was “willing to say anything”.
"He was a fantastic actor, and the best moments ever in my career were pitching him new jokes to say and making him laugh really hard," he said.
Apatow added: "Apparently, you can't shock Eminem with anything you have to say.
“To make him laugh super hard was really, really fun, and he's great in the movie. I'm glad that his scene kills, and so it's really exciting."
Sandler said Eminem, whose starred in the 2002 film 8 Mile, was "very loose" on set.
Funny People is due to be released in the UK in the middle of August.
