Madonna yesterday visited the family of Charles Criscenzo, the French worker killed when the stage he was building for an upcoming concert by the singer collapsed.
The star also visited three workers who were hospitalised following the collapse at the Velodrome stadium in Marseilles last week.
Madonna, who was dressed all in black, was seen carrying a large bouquet of white roses outside the Conception hospital.

City mayor Jean-Claude Gaudin praised the singer for displaying “such human qualities” during the visits.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Workers had been constructing a temporary roof canopy at the stadium when it buckled, causing a crane to fall.
Charles Prow, 23, from Britain, also died in hospital from injuries sustained in the collapse, which has triggered a manslaughter investigation.
In a statement, Madonna said she had been left “devastated” by the “tragic news”.
"My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news,” she added.
The singer’s planned concert at the venue on Sunday was cancelled.
The show had been scheduled to form part of the second leg of Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet world tour.
