AEG Live, the promoters responsible for Michael Jackson’s cancelled comeback concerts in London, will release full ticket refund details next week.

In a statement, the company said: “On behalf of the entire AEG organisation we extend our deepest condolences to Michael Jackson's family and friends during this tragic time.

“Full ticket refund information and procedures will be released early next week for all Michael Jackson ‘This Is It’ shows.

“Fans are advised to hold onto their ticket vouchers/proof of purchase.”

Jackson had been due to begin a 50-night residency at the O2 Arena in London on July 13.

Possible losses

It is thought AEG could lose millions as a result of the cancelled gigs, which would have run until March 2010.

There is uncertainty tonight over what level of insurance cover the promoter had secured.

Some reports suggested AEG had only gained insurance cover for the initial ten shows.

The Times newspaper said insurance companies in London had expressed concern about covering all 50 dates due to fears about Jackson’s health.

'This Is It'

AEG looked to have secured one of the most lucrative concert residencies of all time in March when more than a million people tried to buy tickets for the gigs.

Over 800,000 people eventually secured tickets, earning the company more than $85million.

The promoter had already spent $30millon on production costs, Billboard reports.

A number of casual staff had also been employed for the entire residency. Those will now have to be cancelled.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Jackson died yesterday in Los Angeles of a suspected heart attack.

The 50-year-old’s body has undergone an autopsy at the LA Coroner’s Office this afternoon.
