Speaking shortly before Status Quo's inaugural Glastonbury performance, Francis Rossi from the group has hit out at festivals saying there are “too many people”, the toilets are “stinky” and he hates mud.
The 60-year-old vocalist and guitarist says he would never go to a festival or stay and watch other bands after the Quo perform.
He blathered: “No, I'd never go to a festival. Someone asked if we would be staying to watch the other bands. What for? Do you go to the bloke next door and watch him work?”
Asked by the BBC what he dislikes about festivals, Rossi continued: “I've been this side (backstage) and it's bad enough this side, let alone that side (as a reveller).
“There's too many people. You've got dodgy, stinky toilets, I don't like those much, and I don't like muddy fields. And if the weather's particularly suspect I don't like being outside.
“Someone asked if this is the weirdest thing I've ever done. No, I've played at the bottom of a quarry, we've played in castles, I've played in a sandstorm, I've played in a tornado.”
Status Quo open The Pyrmaid Stage on Sunday morning. It promises to be a right laugh...
