Noel Gallagher says the Oasis fans asking for their money back after the opening Manchester Heaton Park show are “cheeky ****s”.
The June 4 gig, of course, was blighted with technical problems when a generator failed, resulting in the band temporarily leaving the stage after only three songs.
Upon returning after the forced 45 minute break, Noel told the crowd it was now a “free” gig and “Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund.”
Over the past two weeks 20,000 people have asked for their £45 back - more than a quarter of the crowd - hitting Oasis with a £900,000 bill.
Writing on the official Oasis site, Noel seemed bemused with the fans requesting a refund, writing: “It seems that around 20,000 of you have asked for a refund from that night at Heaton Park!! 20,000!! So you were genuinely disappointed? I don't recall seeing a 20,000 gap in the crowd. Cheeky ****s! Tsk ..some people.”
