Depeche Mode restarted their world tour in Germany last night following Dave Gahan's operation to have a tumour removed from his bladder.
The band were forced to scrap or postpone a total of 12 shows after Gahan was taken ill at the beginning of May.
The singer was originally treated for gastroenteritis, but doctors later discovered a low-grade malignant tumour in his bladder.
Gahan told the crowd in Leipzig: "Being back onstage is an incredible feeling and I'm looking forward to each and every show.”
Depeche Mode will return to the UK in December for dates in Glasgow, Birmingham, Manchester and London.
