Lemonheads singer Evan Dando has sued struggling US car company General Motors for copyright violation.
Dando claims the company re-recorded his hit 'It's A Shame About Ray' for a 2008 TV advert without permission.
In the lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Federal Court, Dando is seeking damages and profits from the campaign.
The legal action comes just weeks after General Motors became one of the highest profile victims of the global economic recession.
The world's second-largest car company filed for bankruptcy on June 1 with debts of over $170million.
