Atlanta-based rapper Dolla was fatally shot in the head whilst on an afternoon shopping trip in Los Angeles yesterday (May 18).
The 21-year-old, real name Roderick Anthony Burton II, was killed at around 3.10pm while he and fellow rapper DJ Shabbazz waited in a car-park at the Beverly Centre in West Hollywood.
The LAPD arrested a possible suspect while he tried to board a plane at Los Angeles International Airport at around 5pm.
Dolla's publicist, Sue Vannasing, confirmed he had earlier been involved with an altercation whilst aboard a flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles. However, it's unclear whether this is the reason behind the shooting.
Dolla signed to Akon's record label Konvict Muzik in 2007 and released a number of singles under the imprint, including his biggest hit 'I'm ****ed Up' last year.
