Amy Winehouse's Dad Distancing Himself From Alcoholic Daughter

Amy Winehouse's dad Mitch has said he's distancing himself from his daughter after revealing she has a new addiction – alcohol.

Speaking to journalist Daphne Barak for a TV documentary, Mitch said he was delighted when Amy finally beat her drug demons, but now fears she is becoming dependent on drink.

He said: “After she almost died twice from drug related problems, to see her walking, smiling - she has progressed so much, but now, if it's alcohol instead of hard drugs - I don't think I can go through that again.”

Mitch continued that he feels there isn't much he can do to influence her daughter, so he's decided to take a back seat.

He said: “I've decided to distance myself, and whatever happens, happens. It's her life,' he said. 'It's her career. It's her decision.”

Amy Winehouse's comeback show at the St Lucia Jazz Festival last Friday was a complete disaster. The clearly intoxicated star mumbled her way through, fell to the ground and was booed off at the end.#
