Cornelius has been forced to cancel his North American tour due to swine flu.
The Japanese artist was due to play two dates in Mexico and four in California with support from Deerhoof later this month, however his management issued a statement yesterday explaining the cancellation.
It reads:
“Due to the Swine Flu concerns and increased governmental travel restrictions, Cornelius' tour in Mexico and the United States has been cancelled.
Our deepest sympathies to all of those affected directly or indirectly by the virus.
To all our fans, we hope to return in 2010 upon the release of Cornelius' forthcoming album, and will have more information for you in the coming months.
Sincerely, The Cornelius group
BUMMER”
Earlier this week Four Tet cancelled a Mexico gig due to the outbreak.
