Creed have confirmed that they have reunited for a new album and tour.
The band, who split five years ago, will initially play 42 dates across the US, although that figure could rise further.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, singer Scott Stapp described the coming together as “a renewing and a rebirth”, rather than a reunion.
“I missed my boys and wanted to create music with them again,” he said.
“We're all thrilled to have a second chance to make a first impression."
Creed have sold 26.1million albums in the US since 1997 and grossed more than $70million from their live shows.
Stapp said he had already compiled a series of demos with guitarist Mark Tremonti that would eventually become a new album.
The record, which is as-yet-untitled, is expected after the group’s tour.

- Creed don't realise that they were already rubbish back in the 90s - I'm so tired of bands getting back together now. Why can't people just make some original music?

- It's been a long time, Scott Seems to have cleaned up his act and his old band members have forgiven him. I have to say I can't wait to seem them live. I live in Chicago, saw two great show and one that was really strange, but the memories of those two great shows is going to plant my a$$ in a seat and rock out for a night. Let's face it folks this in entertainment! Nothing more! As for a new release, I'll buy it. My guess is Alterbridge will be revisited down the road.

- I have to admit, I have a Stapp infection.
Thanks for posting this! With so much bad news being posted it's good to see some positivity!!!! Everyone wants to hate. yeah, I'd like to see them go triple DIAMOND, sell 35 millions records, right? exactly.
This is the BEST news I’ve ever heard…in my entire life. The one band that actually improved people’s lives by giving them a second Christ to look up to and give true hope that life can be worth living! Scott Stapp will be remembere

- Creed 26 Million in Record Sales, Alterbridge well let not even try to make a comparison.... If all of the Alterbridge fans out their would have bought the last two CDs maybe they would be touring instead of Creed. Let face facts... It about the money! Since Alterbridge and Stapp both have recordings ready, why do you think they decided to drop those and record a Creed Album, how about the larger crowds that Creed brings in and the money they will make touring!
