Coachella Festival 2009: Gigwise Twitter Round-Up

The 2009 edition of the Coachella festival has drawn to a close in Los Angeles.

The event featured headlining performances from Sir Paul McCartney, The Cure and The Killers.

And Gigwise was there in attendance to bring you all of the music news and behind the scenes gossip.

To celebrate what was one long hot weekend, we've rounded up the best bits from our Twitter coverage below:

Day One

- Gigwise has arrived @ #Coachella The sun is hot and minor celebs are everywhere!

- No highlights of note yet. Macca and Mozza and Cohen should nail it later.

- Anthony Kiedis just walked past. Short arsed and looks like Carlos Tevez.

- We Are Scientists will wear those shoes out - walking ALL over the place. Seeing a lot of them.

- Morrissey has come on to a piano rendition of you'll never walk alone. Tribute to Hillsborough.

- Paul McCartney last night veered from the corny to the inspired. Leonard Cohen however was devastatingly brilliant.

Day two

- Woke up this morning and a tent a few metres away had a wasps' nest on it. Swarms of the little buggers. Scary. #coachella8:35 PM Apr 18th from web

- MIA cool as fuck. Nice stage invasion. A lot of the crowd seem far too cool for school.

- Paris Hilton just got served before me at the bar. Bitch. Fleet foxes = astounding.
 
- I'm wearing a David Bowie t-shirt in honour of who SHOULD be headlining #Coachella tonight.

Day Three

- Sebastien Tellier just saved a middling set with a gorgeous 'La Ritournelle'.
   
- Tent ten deep outside for Friendly Fires. Definitely making waves out here.
   
- 105 degrees at #Coachella I may melt.

- Off to see The Horrors. Hopefully the show will live up to the brilliance of Primary Colours #Coachella.
   
- YYY's as the sun sets. Undecided if a shimmering gold Karen O has out-cooled MIA # Coachella.

- My Bloody Valentine are FUCKING LOUD.

- The field is emptying. Some lightweights can't take the MBV onslaught.
