Three men in South Africa have been sentenced to life in prison for murdering reggae star Lucky Dube.
The 43-year-old was shot dead in front of his family in Johannesburg in October 2007 as the three tried to steal his car.
Sifiso Mhlanga, Julius Gxowa, and Mbuti Mabe must serve at least 15 years behind bars for the killing.
The South Africa Press Association reports that Dube's family and friends broke down in tears as the sentences were read out. Fans were also gathered outside South Gauteng High Court to honour the influential musician.
Lucky's widow Zanele Dube said afterwards: "The sentence won't heal me, but we are happy they were arrested and that the law took its course."
Backing singer Tonique Thala added: “I don't think we will ever recover from this. But we are happy that justice has been done."
