Fans of Natalie Cole, daughter of Nat King Cole, have offered to give the singer their kidneys after she revealed on TV that she needed a transplant.
During an appearance on Larry King Live, Cole said both of her kidneys had failed following treatment for hepatitis C.
Cole, who was diagnosed with the condition in 2008, began dialysis after her kidneys “stopped functioning” as a result of chemotherapy.
"They stopped processing the fluid that was starting to build up in my body,” she told King.
After her interview, the TV host presented the singer with emails from fans offering their own kidneys.
Cole paid tribute to the “amazing” offers from fans, which she said showed there were “some great human beings out there”.
"I always felt that it was just so strange to solicit to strangers for a kidney,” she added.
Cole has vowed to continue touring.
