Bio:
Jimmy Eat World formed in 1994, and got their name after Tom’s younger brothers Ed and Jimmy had a fight, resulting in Ed drawing a picture of Jimmy eating the world.
After a series of EPs, they signed to Capitol in 1995, their first major label release being ‘Static Prevails’. This was followed by Clarity, which was quite successful and their fanbase grew. However, it was at this point that they decided to leave Capitol.
In 2001 they signed to DreamWorks and released ‘Bleed American’, which was renamed ‘Jimmy Eat World’ after September 11th. It featured such hits as ‘The Middle’, ‘Sweetness’ and fantastic angst anthem ‘Salt Sweat Sugar’. More label trauma came at the beginning of 2004 when DreamWorks shut down. The band quickly switched to Interscope which brought us the brilliant album ‘Futures’ in October 2004.
