Bat For Lashes To Make Musical Fantasy Film

Inspired by her debut album...

Bat For Lashes' Natasha Khan has confirmed that work has begun on a musical fantasy film based on the songs from her debut album ‘Fur And Gold’.

Speaking to Gigwise, the Brighton based songwriter revealed that plans for a visual interpretation of her 2006 LP are currently under way in Los Angeles.

“They’re writing the script and I think they’ve got the go ahead of using the music but now they just have to get the funding,” she said.

“I think there’s kind of a plan to make this beautiful musical which takes the narrative from the chronological order of songs from 'Fur and Gold'.”

Khan said scriptwriters had come up with an “amazing story”, which she said was “a bit like Neverending Story”.

“If it happens it’ll be amazing but we don’t know yet if we can afford it,” she added. “It’s always money I suppose, but who knows, it’s in the pipeline.”

Bat For Lashes second album, ‘Two Suns’, will be released on April 6th.

  • That sounds thought-provoking and ambitious, but wouldn't it be just as amazing for Natasha Khan to make a full-fledged original soundtrack for a film? God I hope she gives that to us next. My skull would detach.
