Reggae singer Ian Newtion, who released a hit single in the 1990s under the name Scoobie Santino, has been found dead in London.
Newtion's body was found with his throat slit in the underpass at Greenford roundabout in Greenford on Sunday (March 22nd).
Newtion, 45, had been travelling home from a party in Scout Hut when he was attacked, police told the BBC.
"It is unclear at this stage what time he left but it is believed he was making his way home when he was assaulted and received a severe cut to the neck,” a spokesperson for the Metropolitan police said.
The reggae singer released a hit single, 'Cash Money', in the 1990s.
In a message on his MySpace page, fellow reggae singer Lloyd Brown said he wished to send his “deepest condolences” to Newtion's “family and loved ones”
“I had only met him once, with Sweetie Irie at a show in Leicester many years ago, a very jovial and respectful man,” he added.
Police have appealed for potential witnesses to come forward if they have any potential information about the incident.
