Outkast's Big Boi has said the hip-hop duo will begin recording their next record once partner Andre 3000 has finished his solo album.
The rapper, who recently finished recording his own solo effort, told Rolling Stone they had already spent time in the studio drafting ideas together.
“As soon as Dre finishes his solo record, we’ll get the ‘Kast cranking,” Big Boi said.
“Since we’ve both been working with Organized Noize on our solo projects, we hear different records and be like, ‘Well, we’re gonna keep this one for the ‘Kast album.’
“We’re cooking up tracks, all right. Never stop. That’s an everyday thing.“
Big Boi previewed a number of tracks from his forthcoming solo album, entitled 'Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty', at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas yesterday (March 19th).
The album, which he said will include “electro, funk, blues, some of everything”, is due to be released in the summer.
