Britney Spears has been asked to perform at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Swindon in May, according to reports.
The singer, who tours the UK in June, is tipped to join a line up which already includes Snow Patrol and N-Dubz.
Spears ends her US tour on May 2nd, leading to speculation she will fly the UK early to play Big Weekend, which takes place over the weekend of May 9th and 10th.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Everyone’s got their fingers crossed that Britney will come on board.”
Big Weekend is the UK's biggest free ticketed music festival and, this year, will host music over four stages in Lydiard Park.
Last year's event in Kent featured a headlining performance from Madonna.
Big Weekend will be broadcast live on the BBC. More acts are expected to be confirmed over the coming weeks.
Spears is currently touring in support of her latest album 'Circus'. For more information, check out the Gigwise Gig Guide.
