Amy Winehouse has arrived at the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court to face a charge of common assault.
The singer is accused of hitting a woman at the End of Summer Ball in Berkeley Square, London last September.
The unnamed female fan claims Winehouse reacted angrily after she asked to have her photograph taken with the singer.
Winehouse, who was accompanied by her father, Mitch, was trailed by the paparazzi on her way to court this morning.
The photographers followed the singer, who was dressed in a floral dress, as she enterred the court building.
Winehouse's withdrawal from next month's Coachella festival in Los Angeles is thought to be a result of her current legal issues.
