White Stripes and Raconteurs star Jack White has unveiled a new band – The Dead Weather.
Along with White, the group include The Kills' Alison Mosshart, Dead Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age and The Greenhornes' Jack Lawrence.
The group will release their debut album 'Horehound' this June, White said at a private showcase in Nashville earlier this week.
Guests including his White Stripes bandmate Meg White and singer Sheryl Crow were among those treated to a short performance by the group.
White told the Associated Press news agency that hadn't originally intended The Dead Weather to become a full time project.
"The idea was to do a 7-inch single and be done with it, but we started writing songs and something happened," he said.
White added that The Dead Weather plan to tour later this year.
