Barenaked Ladies singer Steven Page has quit the band by “mutual agreement”.
In a statement on the group's website, Page said he was leaving in order to “pursue solo projects”.
The singer, who was arrested in New York in July for cocaine possession, wished his bandmates - “my brothers” - the best in the future.
The Canadian group, which also includes the musicians Ed Robertson, Tyler Stewart, Kevin Hearn and Jim Creeggan, are to continue to record and play live together.
Guitarist Robertson said: "It's the start of a new chapter for all of us. Here's to the future."
