Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger has remixed a song from the soundtrack to the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire.
Her remix of 'Jai Ho', which was named Best Song at the Academy Awards on Sunday (February 22nd), appeared online yesterday (February 23rd).
Scherzinger told Desi Hits it had been an “honour” to collaborate with the movie's composer AR Rahman.
"The movie, the story and the music [were] a gift and very spiritually uplifting for me,” she said in a statement.
“I can only hope and pray Slumdog Millionaire,'and my version of 'Jai Ho' ('You Are My Destiny') touches and connects people all around the world."
As previously reported on Gigwise, Rahman collected both the Best Song and Best Score prizes at the Academy Awards in Los Angeles.
The Indian composer paid tribute to the film's director, Danny Boyle, who he said had given him “such a great opportunity”.
Slumdog Millionaire, which is set in the slums of Mumbai, won a total of eight Oscars, including Best Picture.
The movie's soundtrack also features a collaboration with M.I.A..
