Rihanna Named As Victim In 'Horrific' Attack

Rihanna has been identified by TMZ.com as the victim in an alleged Chris Brown attack after the pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The website claims that Rihanna's injuries were “horrific” with “two huge contusions” which have swelled up on both sides of her forehead. She also suffered a bloodied lip.

The law enforcement source they quote says the 20-year-old singer "look(s) like an MMA fighter or something ... (It) looked like she was growing devil's horns."

In a later news story, TMZ claims that Rihanna suffered bite marks on one of her arms and several of her fingers in the alleged attack.

As reported yesterday, both Rihanna and Brown missed the Grammy Awards ceremony at the Staples Center where they weredue to perform on Sunday evening.

Although it had been confirmed that 19-year-old Brown had turned himself into police and released on $50,000 bail after being charged with a felony criminal threat, the identification of the victim has not been formally revealed by police.

Police released a statement, saying: "After stopping his car, Brown and the woman got out and the argument escalated. The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker."
