Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke has praised 'Chinese Democracy', saying the record is generally “very imaginative”.
The much-delayed album has been at the centre of some fierce criticism since its release last November, but Clarke, who performed with Guns N Roses from 1991 to 1994, has kinder words than some of the critics.
According to Blabbermouth, he said of the record: “I think it's very good and very imaginative. Axl's vocals sound great and there's some creative guitar playing on it also.”
Despite this, he did have some criticisms for the record. He added: “There's too many slow-to-mid-tempo songs on it for my taste and some of the solos are a little overdone; they don't match the song. Some of the lyrics are a little redundant. I expected some resolution since it's taken so long."
