Coldplay drummer Will Champion apologised to Sir Paul McCartney at the Grammy Awards last night for parodying The Beatles' Sgt Pepper outfits.
The band arrived at the ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles in trademark military regalia, that was brightly coloured Sgt Pepper-style for the occasion.
Accepting an award onstage, Champion joked: "Thank you, and sorry to Sir Paul McCartney for blatantly recycling the Sergeant Pepper outfits, sorry boss."
Paul McCartney was present at the industry bash and performed a rendition of The Beatles classic 'I Saw Her Standing There' with Dave Grohl on drum duties.
Coldplay were one of the big winners on the night, scoring three awards in the Best Pop Performance, Song Of The Year and Best Rock Album categories.
