The 'Now That's What I Call Music' albums are to be turned into a TV show.
American Idol creator Simon Fuller, who owns the TV rights to the brand, said the programme would promote new artists, as well as feature an “interactive” chart.
The music mogul denied that the programme, which as yet to be titled, would mirror American Idol.
"This show will be nothing like American Idol. It will be a new take on music programming," he told the BBC.
At present, it's not clear whether the programme will air in the UK.
The UK has been without a major television chart show since Top of the Pops ended in 2006.
