Sir Paul McCartney is planning on asking his girlfriend Nancy Shevall to marry him, reports claim.
The former Beatle has the green light to propose after Shevall's divorce from her former husband, lawyer Bruce Blakeman, was finalised.
Sir Paul's reported marriage plans are said to have been approved by his children, including fashion designer Stella McCartney. Stella was understood to have opposed the former Beatle's marriage to ex-wife Heather Mills.
"Getting Stella's seal of approval was very important for Paul,” a source told the Mirror newspaper.
“All Paul's children had massive reservations about Heather - but it was Stella who was the most vociferous.”
Sir Paul and Shevall have been almost inseparable since the former Beatle's divorce from second wife Heather Mills was finalised last May.
Shevell is an old friend of Sir Paul and his first wife, Linda McCartney, who died in 1998 following a battle with cancer.
