Katy Perry Takes 'Vow Of Celibacy' After Travis McCoy Split

Katy Perry has revealed that she has taken a “vow of celibacy” following her split from Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy.

The singer, who is understood to have left McCoy shortly before New Year, said she only planned to show affection to her cat in 2009.

"I've actually taken a vow of celibacy this year. No kissing anyone. Just my cat: Kitty Purry,” she told America's TV Guide.

Perry's comments come less than a week after she stated that she doesn't “give statements about my personal life”.

The singer spoke out after US tabloids claimed comments she made on stage during a gig alluded to her and McCoy's break-up.

"The stories read about the things I say introducing some of my songs are merely to explain the forth coming song,” she wrote on her blog.
