Elbow bassist Pete Turner has said the band are in no rush to record the follow-up to their Mercury Prize winning album, 'The Seldom Seen Kid'.

"We're not that busy. We don't work hard - we think we work hard by doing a four hour day,” he told the BBC.

Despite the band's laid back approach, however, the bassist said the group expect to release new material before 2010.

Following their Mercury triumph last year, Turner admitted that there was pressure on the band, and the album, to deliver.

"I think we're up there for a little bit of a taking down almost - for us it means we'll work a little bit harder,” he said.

Turner added that the group had changed their approach to recording by planning the album before writing it.

"It's nice to start out with a plan - we're planning out the album before we've written it really. Trying to give it a name and ideas towards the songs,” he added.
