Prosecutor’s in Lil’ Kim perjury trial have attempted to attack the stars credibility by highlighting the fact that the she doesn’t seem to pay her taxes report Yahoo.
Although the trial does not include any tax evasion charges, Assistant U.S. Attorney Cathy Seibel questioned Lil' Kim about the tax debt in front of the Manhattan federal jury to bolster the government's portrayal of the performer as a liar who believes she is above the law.
Seibel questioned the star, notorious for wearing nothing, about her extravagant lifestyle. Highlighting the fact that her expenses often exceeded her disclosed monthly income she said: “Have you cut back on your lifestyle and budgeted yourself to pay the IRS?”
"Yeah, sometimes I do and sometimes I don't," Lil' Kim replied. Kim excused herself of any blame by revealing that she has little to do with her day to day finances. "I go by whatever they tell me to do. This is how I delegate my business. They tell me everything is fine...I move on with my life."
Seibel also questioned her regarding the fact that she had earlier testified to the fact that she owned up to $500,000 worth of jewellery, when in a report to the IRS she had only reported the amount as $49,000. Once again she referred everything back to her accountant.
