Gary Glitter has abandoned his appeal against having to sign the sex offenders register.
The convicted paedophile was ordered to sign the register upon his return to the UK from Vietnam last August after serving nearly three years behind bars for child molestation.
Glitter had been due to appear at Harrow Crown Court next month but a spokesman told the BBC that his solicitor had withdrawn the appeal.
The former rock singer's name will now remain on the register for the rest of his life.
Glitter was jailed in March 2006 for molesting two girls aged eleven and twelve.
