US rapper Lil' Wayne has said his rigorous work ethic was responsible for making 2008 the most successful year of his career.
The rapper received huge critical acclaim last year for his sixth album 'Tha Carter III', which sold over 1 million copies in its first week in the US.
He was also nominated for a host of different awards, including eight Grammys.
Speaking to MTV, the rapper said 2008 was comfortably “the biggest year in my life”.
"The payoff was sweet, of course, but the whole year has been mostly consumed with hard work. I work every single day. I work every single hour,” he said.
“That's what my year has been like. Work."
As previously reported on Gigwise, Lil' Wayne is currently working on his next album, which is understood to be a rock record.
