The Beautiful South have announced plans to reunite without their singer Paul Heaton.
The group, who split in February 2007, will perform at the Welly Club in Hull on March 29th as The New Beautiful South.
Singers David Hemingway and Alison Wheeler, and drummer David Stead, will form the band's new line up.
However, former bassist Sean Welch and guitarist David Rotherary have opted out of the reunion.
Stead told the Hull Daily Mail that the band had “never really split up - all that happened was Paul made the decision to leave.
"But Dave, Alison and I wanted to continue. We've been twiddling our thumbs for a while, but this is what we do best. There are still an awful lot of people out there who want to hear our music and we still want to play it.”
He said The New Beautiful South would be playing the band's greatest hits, as well as new songs.
The Beautiful South were best known for their hit singles 'Rotterdam' and 'Perfect 10'.
