Damon Albarn aired three new Gorillaz songs exclusively for the first time last night (January 14th).
He played the songs – 'Binge', 'Electric Shock' and 'Broken' - as he stood in for DJ Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1.
Although they demonstrated a noticeable departure from the outfit's previous material, Albarn warned that the songs, still at the demo stage, might not make the band's next album.
"I keep changing - it's not finished by any means,” he said. "It's really hard to know when something's done - if I haven't got it right I'll throw it away."
Albarn, who was joined in the studio by his Gorillaz collaborator Jamie Hewlett, didn't give a title for the forthcoming project.
Gorillaz previous two albums, their self-titled debut and 2005's 'Demon Days', were both critically acclaimed.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Albarn will be touring again with Blur this summer after the band announced their reunion last December.
