Electro star Lady GaGa has dismissed Alexandra Burke's recent triumph on The X Factor – and insisted she is not a “talent show wannabe”.
Lady GaGa, whose real name is Joanne Stefani Germanotta, ended Burke's three week reign at number one on Sunday (January 11th) with her debut single 'Just Dance'.
In an interview with the Daily Record, Lady GaGa said she had earned her time in the spotlight, unlike The X Factor champion.
“I did this the way you are supposed to. I played every club in New York and found myself as an artist,” she said.
"I learned how to survive as an artist and how to fail and then figure out who I was as a singer and performer. And I worked hard."
Burke has enjoyed huge sales since winning The X Factor last month.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Lady GaGa is currently supporting the Pussycat Dolls and is due to play her debut UK solo show at London's G-A-Y on Saturday (January 17th).
