Pavement are in talks to reform for a performance at the 2009 Coachella Festival in Los Angeles.
Former guitarist Scott Kannberg said relations between the group, who split in 1999, were now “fine”.
He also hinted that they could embark on a full reunion tour at the end of the year to mark their 20th anniversary later.
"I don't see why not, you know, it could be a fun thing to do, go and play your favourite songs every night," he told Loud And Quiet.
"2009 would be our 20-year anniversary too, so that'd be a good time to do it, but I think that's too soon, it might have to be pushed back later.
"Coachella keep asking our booking agent but our booking agent's pretty strong. He's waiting for the right number, I think."
The Coachella festival will take place from April 17th-19th. Prince, Jack Johnson and Roger Waters headlined the event in 2007.
